I have never been attached to inanimate objects like cars, or sentimental items such as a baseball caught at a major league game. So, as I drove onto the beach and parked the car, I heard a rumbling baritone bass voice speaking to me from my stereo speakers, that scared me to my core.

At 270 pounds, I was unable to open or unlock the driver’s door, along with unlocking my seatbelt. I was shocked with disbelief, when I heard again, the baritone bass voice of what I recognized as the voice of James Earl Jones, stating “The Force in your car is dying”. As I attempted to exit with deliberate force, the voice stated. “There is no escape”.

I thought for a moment believing friends of mine are playing a joke on me or this was truly a Stephen King novel come true.

The voice, stated, “The life force of your car is nearing its end”. Now at this point, I consider this to be a joke, so I play along, and respond. Why it running fine! Then, in a more intimidating voice, “Your car’s life force will soon fail, if you don’t act soon”.

Suddenly the doors unlock, along with the seat belt and I hurriedly exited the car and stood looking at it from a distance. I suddenly felt sadden as I began to recall the memories of the past twenty-three years, and I immediately thought, I’ll just refurbish the car and keep on driving my old girl.
