“Morton’s Fork”

In response to The Daily Post’s writing prompt: “Morton’s Fork.”

If you had to choose between being able to write a blog (but not read others’) and being able to read others’ blogs (but not write your own), which would you pick? Why?

writing_journey of a blog

Given the choices of writing my own blogs or reading others, I chose to write my own blog

With my creative imagination, I can dream many dreams, travel anywhere within the universe and I can travel anywhere to enjoying my day, yet, never leaving my home.

Although, I have traveled across most of the US and parts of Europe. If I have my laptop, and access to the Internet, I can research the details of any location to build upon the characters I create.

I will miss reading the daily posting of WordPress bloggers, like “The Angloswiss,” with her short stories with witty comical insights and the wisdom and poetry of “Life-Lessons, A blog by Judy Dystra-Brown.

However, with WordPress’s Daily Posting Prompts to ignite my thoughts, I will continue to  write a blog, short stories, flash fiction, poetry and display my photography.

  1. Given a choice, I would do the same. But, I would miss reading the work of others. As I read their work, I feel I get to know them a bit and would miss them if I didn’t hear from them.

  2. I would write mine as as well, sometimes I have many things to tell, I have visited many countries in four continents and write about many subjets, but sometimes I’m rather short of time (though I,’m retired), but I enjoy reading other blogs as yours!!!! Regards from Barcelona, Spain.

  3. That’s an easy one, I’d read others’ blogs instead of writing mine.

  4. Unlike Sean, that’s really difficult, like a choice between breathing or moving around? To just read would be insatiably motivating to add my thoughts. To just write would be without the inspiration of others’ thoughts.

    Dunno, Marty. Tough choice.

  5. I too would write my own. But, I fear that without the inspiration from the other blogs it might not be the better for it!
I hope I never have to make that choice.

  10. Marty, that’s a hard choice to make! I’d probably be a rebel and argue/support both sides of that question. Not sure if you have an award-free site, however I’ve nominated you for the Very Inspiring Blogger Award! There’s an alternate filed of flowers award if you are unable to accept the “real” award. Always enjoy you insightful posts, and of course your sunset photos! All Best, Christine Please read the award post here: http://cerobinsonauthor.com/2015/02/11/very-inspiring-blogger-award-for-c-e-robinson

    1. Mary, not sure why the address doesn’t take you to the actual post, but it takes you to the site! Just click on Awards on the menu and you’re there! This has happened a few times, but not with every nominee. Sorry! Christine
