What’s your travel style? Are you itinerary and schedule driven, needing to have every step mapped out in advance or are you content to arrive without a plan and let happenstance be your guide?
My past travel style on a motorcycle designed specifically for long distances. I have traveled across the US from east to west and from Key west Fl to Fairbanks Alaska. These travels have allowed me to judge several different travel styles. Yet, after my trip to Alaska my travel style was changed forever.
During previous travels, I planned my ride distances from one destination to another with hotel reservations. However, during my travel to Alaska, I became a wanderer deciding on my destinations as I pleased.
I easily adapted to the wandering type of traveler the farther north I traveled along the Alaska Highway during the month of June & July. Because of the longitude and latitude, darkness was not a factor until well after midnight.
I now travel never worrying to seek a place to stay especially when I have reservations placed or the area has ample hotels allowing me to wanderer as I travel during the day.
One aspect of my travel style that will never change, is always monitoring the weather.
