What’s the biggest chance you ever took? Did it work out? Do tell!
My journey has reflected a by the book disciplinarian lifestyle.
I have received technical and detailed training during my previous careers, along with the accompanying practicals to test what I’ve learned. After ten or more years of training, I coined the phrase, “Avoid the Oops Factor.”
Now, life is filled with great moments of opportunities that bring forth incredible results for those who gambled by taking a chance. However, many lose everything including their lives from taking the same chances. Hence the phrase, avoiding the Oops Factor.
To avoid the oops factor, I do not take chances without some form of pre-planning and imaging the outcome along with any possible unexpected circumstance.
Early in life I discovered and understood the wisdom of expecting the unexpected will take place, no matter how much preparation is given.
Although, I cannot recall a time, I took a chance without preplanning for the expected and the unexpected too, “avoid the oops factor.” I’m keenly aware, that most likely whatever happens will happen, and planning and being prepared is the best course of action.
Oh, wait a moment, I can recall a time when someone took a chance on me. It was during the birth of my son, the doctor asked if I wanted to cut the umbilical cord.
Now this was unplanned, and I was shocked. So with nervous, shaky hands, yes I used both hands, I completed the task of cutting the cord.
However, I apparently must have been identified as a risky chance, as I was not offered the opportunity for my daughter, and I have yet to hold surgical scissors ever since.
