I have experienced a few romances during my lifetime, and they were all first rate and or better.
In my belief and experiences, a third rate human romance could or possibly be a superficial relationship.
Since most superficial relationships developing into romance may be based on the attractions of looks and not friendship or a shared love. A third rate romance is natural.
However, a third rate romance is below a second and first-rate romance yet, better than a fourth rate romance.
So if you desire to avoid the third or second rate romance.
Begin a romance on a foundation of friendship coupled with a shared loved of something.
Yet, if a third or second rate romance is sought it is easy and anything easily achieved may one day become a heartache like eating food too fast.
