Every band member in the marching and orchestra bands maintains a solidarity based on the instrument they have played their entire lives.
Those who play the Trumpet, French Horns, Trombones, Baritone Horns, and Tuba considered themselves the essential rhythmic soul of the band.
The woodwinds considered themselves the projected voice of the band giving rhythmic voice to the words of music.
TA percussion section is a close-knit group with the timpani, xylophone, cymbals, triangle, snare drum, bass drum, tambourine, maracas, gongs, chimes, celesta, and piano, and they are the heartbeat of a band.
But it is the conductor unifying all sections unifying them all to become a brassy band.
