In my lifetime, I have toured and visited all fifty contiguous US states, including Hawaii and Alaska. Still, I have never taken time to tour the US’s corner edge in a state called Washington.
The State of Washington has eastern high deserts, the Cascade Mountain regions, and my favorite, the rocky cliffs, and beaches are all within one phenomenal state. I have fallen in love with the ecological beauty of the Pacific Northwest.
I originally planned to explore the Olympic Peninsula for two weeks, but 1400-plus photos later, and two weeks more than I plan to circumnavigate the entire peninsula and explore the National Forests. I have found a new photographic and backpacking inspiration destination.
My previous blog post highlighted Washington’s Port Townsend and the lovely couple I hiked and toured the town. Then I toured and hiked a section of Hurricane Ridge within Olympia NP, and It was magical.
The ridge is open to hiking, skiing, and snowboarding and is one of the two most visited sites in the national park. At an elevation of 5,242 feet, Hurricane Ridge is a year-round destination. I walked along the trail to capture these photo visuals of either the Pacific Ocean, the Salish Sea, or a huge Lake Crescent to the northwest.
Because of too much human contact from being fed, this whitetail deer has no fear of humans’ as these photos reveal its approach to my car window I captured when the deer trotted towards my car window.
The 1.5 miles views along Hurrican Ridge paved hiking trail provides visual sights to take your breath away are simply incredible. Oh, there is more to come after photos are edited and uploaded. So, what out. 🙂
